Construction of a new 3 storey building to provide 87 new high quality independent living apartments as well as 17 new two-bed extra care bungalows creating a new residential village for older people. The development provides on-site communal facilities including a bistro, lounge, hair and beauty salon and guest suite.
Alt Fire provided the project with a review of the initial fire strategy followed by production of the RIBA Stage 4 Fire Safety Strategy. They We continued to support the project during the construction phase with understanding and implementing the fire strategy, and the evaluation of proposed materials, alternative designs and the review of construction details.
The project fire strategy was developed to comply with the operator’s standard fire safety standards, while also complying with the Building Regulations. The profile of the occupants and the established management procedures were the key considerations.
